Leslie Engelhart is a western artist who knows cowboys, horses, and mules. The detail of her pencil drawings comes from her familiarity of her subjects. She grew up in the ranching and mule packing country of Eastern California, and it is this rural ranch and pack outfit background that provides her with the contemporary western themes she draws. With western art, more than many other types of art, it must be intimately lived rather than viewed as a spectator in order to portray it with accurate insight.
Working primarily in pencil, Leslie depicts everyday cowboy life on ranches and pack outfits. She works off of photos she has taken or ones other people send in for commissioned work. Her work can be
viewed in over 95 stores nationwide where you can view her original pencil drawings, limited edition prints, mugs, cocktail glasses, t-shirts,
notecards, and trivets.
If you like horses, if you like mules, if you like scenes from everyday life on a working ranch or pack outfit you will enjoy viewing western art featured on these pages.
